Memorials for the 911 fallen begin

This morning in lower Manhattan I witnessed what is surely the first of what will be many memorials this weekend for the 10th anniversary of the 911 attacks. Police presence has already been ramped up in anticipation of what officials are calling credible intelligence that terrorist are planning and attack that will coincide with the anniversary. This morning while crossing the Brooklyn bridge I saw several police and federal marshals observing traffic on the lookout for anything out if the ordinary.
Meanwhile in the Manhattan side of the bridge memorial services have already began for the fallen, this one for a NY State court officer who gave his life on 9/11/01 saving others from the worst terror attack on US soil
